APS Symposium "Lunch
Time Panel"
Background:
At its meeting in February 2006, the IEEE AP-S Ad Com approved holding a Lunch Time Panel on a special topic to be conducted at the annual IEEE-APS Symposium. The idea was introduced by Nader Engheta, Chair of New Technology Committee. The topic for the 2006 symposium in Albuquerque was "Terahertz Phenomena," and the panel was organized by Amir Zaghloul. The expert presenters at the panel were: Peter de Maagt from the European Space Agency in the Netherlands, Peter Siegel from the Jet propulsion Laboratory in the US, and Trevor Bird from CSIRO in Australia. The panel presented the advances in Terahertz technolgy and its applications around the world.
