Happy and prosperous 2020! A new year represents a new beginning, new possibilities, new adventures, and new research opportunities. For us, stepping into 2020 has marked the official launch of the IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation (OJAP), our gold fully-open access journal that aspires to serve and advance science by establishing itself as a unique, prestigious venue, where valuable content will be communicated and shared.

The birth of OJAP, as a brand new journal, has required intense and continuous efforts and would not have been possible without the support and much appreciated contributions by everyone involved in this venture. I am truly honoured and thrilled to be working closely with an Advisory Board of pioneering contributors in antennas and propagation, along with a dedicated team of Associate Editors that cover all aspects of OJAP’s scope and have been selected due to their academic excellence in the field. Together with the AP-S and the IEEE, we have joined forces in order to ensure the successful launch of OJAP and lay the foundations for its long-term sustainability.

Now that the first volume of the journal is out, we, the OJAP editorial team, would like to cordially invite all of you to welcome OJAP, both as authors and readers, and become members of our expanding OJAP community! Let us jumpstart 2020 by embarking together on an exciting journey, that will generate novel questions and spark the discovery of new research avenues within the antennas and propagation field!
