The IEEE AP-S Technical Committee (TC4: Metamaterials, with support from TC2: Arrays) and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Global Big Data Technologies Centre (GBDTC) successfully co-organized a half-day workshop on Metamaterials and Phased Array Technologies for 6G in Sydney, Australia. The event brought together leading researchers and engineers to explore cutting-edge advancements in antenna systems for future wireless networks.

The workshop opened with welcoming remarks by Can Ding (UTS), followed by Christophe Fumeaux (University of Queensland), who delivered greetings and provided an overview of the current state and development of the IEEE AP-S Society. Alessio Monti (Roma Tre University) and Yongmei Pan (South China University of Technology) then presented the missions and activities of TC4 and TC2, highlighting their roles in advancing key technologies. The technical program featured five high-quality presentations on critical 6G-enabling technologies, including beamforming, millimeter-wave phased arrays, multibeam systems, wearable antennas, and metasurface applications. The session served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and networking, showcasing innovative research in metamaterials, phased arrays, and next-generation antenna systems.
